Negative taken of Mc Edward Walker, his wife Ora Tate Walker, and four children: Edward Onasia (eldest son, back), Cherida A. (daughter), Alfred Aristotle (middle son, front) and Mc Alton Dubois Walker (infant son in Ora's lap) in dress clothing are seated in a wood paneled room in Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas. Mc Edward Walker was born in Springfield, Conway County, Arkansas, the son of Willis (operated Ground Hog Saw Mill) and Janie Walker (teacher). After attending Arkansas Agricultural and Mechanical College (now the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff), Mc Walker opened a retail store at 724 1/2 West 9th in 1972. He moved the store to Ebony Plaza at 1803 Broadway, then sold it after several years at that location. Walker opened a another clothing store called "McWalker Clothier" at 417 South Main Street in Little Rock in 1978.
